Day 11 – Hooked on Busan’s Markets

The weather and I started out the day with similar dispositions; a cold.

Making my way to Gukje Market lifted my spirits, but unfortunately not the case for the weather.

Owl you doin?

There were many streets lined with clothes stores, food, souvenirs and kitchen wares.

I found a bibliophile’s heaven

It was raining by the time I’d made it to Jalachi fish Market.

But I’m glad I braved the weather to see this famous market. A one of a kind experience seeing the different seafood vendors calling out their catch of the day, alongside vegetable stall holders prepping their produce.

From sea to market

Then I got soaking wet making my way back to the hotel to have a indoor, dessert picnic with my Market haul.

Traditional desserts: Strawberries, peach tea and colourful Songypeon (glutinous rice filled with red bean paste and traditionally eaten during Chuseok – Korean Thanksgiving) & Injeolmi (variety of tteok, or Korean rice cake this one I think is covered with powdered sesame seeds or adzuki beans)

A delicious way to end a rainy, spring day! See you tomorrow Busan.
