Day 4 – Moments of Calm in Seoul

Started out the day getting breakfast from the famous Isaac Toast in Myeondong.

Just needed to be seasoned to be the perfect start to the day

Then I made my way to Lotte Mart, apparently Korea’s most famous shopping centre (according to the PA system). It’s basically three buildings connected by walk ways on certain floors.

There are many luxury brands stores, street wear, toys, duty free levels and a cinema. My favourite part was the Sky Garden, a nice spot to take a break from the retail stimulation.

After riding up and down the escalators, I left in search of my happy place, and I found it at YP Books in Insadong.

I couldn’t resist buying some!

They have a wide range of topics, spots to chill and read or grab a beverage from the lower level cafe.

I stopped for a late lunch before heading to Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Lunch: cold buckwheat noodle soup (so refreshing) and Dalgona a traditional honeycomb sweet

The best remedy for sore feet is soak them in the chilly stream and enjoy the sunny afternoon.

Just missed my 15min of Korean fame: almost had my photo taken for a newspaper
Bought this yummy snack from a hearing impaired family of street vendors near the steps down to the stream – delicious red bean filled snacks, it tastes like red bean filled pancakes

After enjoying a beautiful afternoon, it was time to catch a bus back to my hotel.

Can’t wait till tomorrow to live out my historical Kdrama fantasies…
